Hiya Yak Lady,

How ya doin'?? How many yaks you got? Your avatar's chicken looks like it has yak wool for a wig!!

It probably does. LOL! Most wigs are made out of yak hair, as are most hair extensions. As of this past Saturday, we are down to 12 yaks. We processed a bull a couple of months ago, and sold three calves on Saturday. It's strange how losing 4 head can make the herd seem so much smaller.

Man!!!! I didn't have time over the weekend to check in on here, so now I'm going to have to go back and read a whole bunch of stuff to catch up.

Just checking in while I take a break. That way I won't have so much to read to catch up with tonight. Install two more nest boxes on my divided coop so now all of my roosters are with their respective hens. I still need to build that ark for my pair of bantam blue orpingtons so that I can put the welsummers in a coop by themselves. Right now all of my large fowl are in one coop and that welsummer rooster is just entirely too happy.

Hi PK, how are the chicks?

St. Patrick's isn't until Wednesday the 17th, but hope it's happy every day!

Oh. I thought it was today.

The chicks are good, although I wish they would stop growing. They're so cute!

I also got my very first fart egg today!

Ok, Princess, you gotta explain to me what the heck you're talking about. I'm laughing and I don't even know why.

Do a search, top right. I could explain it, but the reading in those threads is MUCH more fun! Type in "fart egg".

Hi folks!!!!!! SOOOooo I incubated a couple dozen eggs at 97 degrees

Found two eggs in my bantam run and their diameters were less than a dime. Then check the nest box that a gold seabright was sitting in and found a an egg with a diameter less than a nickel. I think I may have to call them my small change birds.

I had a corned beef boiled dinner with red potatoes, cabbage, and carrots. I bought the largest brisket I could find envisioning reuben sandwiches made with the left overs. That plan won't be coming to fruition. Hope's stepfather joined us for dinner, and when the meal was over, with the silent communication that only those who have been together forever can use, she signaled her intent to fix to meals for him to take home. Nothing I could do but agree. He has really started to go down hill and the only way she is certain that he eats properly is if she fixes meals for him.

Granny, who says she is trying to lose weight, ate a portion equal to mine along with a dinner roll. Then she decides she needs something sweet and proceeds to fix herself some honey and butter. At least two tablespoons of butter and honey of sufficient quanity that it required two more dinner rolls. She grumbles about needing to lose weight but sadly she suffers from an over active fork.

If corned beef is boiled brisket, then what do you call that stuff that is in a can that you open with a key? That is the only corned beef I know.
