Opa's place -Where an old rooster visits with friends

Thanks Sam! I'm kinda proud of me too! As you know I eviscerated the first one just because I felt I should to gain the experience etc. The other two I followed your instructions and just took off the legs and breasts. They were much much quicker to do! Now I need you to send me detailed instructions on how to get rid of all the feathers that have managed to find their way into every nook and cranny of my kitchen.

1- Open kitchen window
2- Duct tape to counter all items you wish to retain
3- Fire on of these up..............It's called power dusting

Hehehe! I like that idea. Living on a dirt road makes dusting an endless task. Maybe your idea would be quicker and easier.

ETA: So glad you liked the yak roast!

Today as I returned from my mailbox carrying a package from easttxchick that I knew would contained the emu eggs she had promised I couldn't help but wonder why it was so heavy. As I opened it a bunch of yellow peeps lay inside looking up at me. Along with with was what she called a "taste of Texas". What a wonderful surprize to find spice seasoning, brisket marinade, butter & jalapeno marinade, hush puppy mix, fish batter and even some jalapeno peppers. I then unwrapped two of the most beautiful dark green eggs imaginable. Her kindness and generousity has touch me deeply and is something I will not soon forget.

Just dropping by for some caffeine.
Opa, have fun with those eggs and be sure you let us see the completed project.

And I agree whole heartedly, Sheila is a wonderful, good hearted person.

Thanks for the kind words, Maggie, I appreciate them very much.
I've tried to stay out of the house today because my eggs are SUPPOSED to start hatching and so far, nada!

I also have ANOTHER bird in a hospital cage as of this afternoon due to very labored breathing and wheezing

Oh well, some days you're the dog and some days you're the fire hydrant...could always be worse though.

Hope you all had a great day and are having a great afternoon.

I got the nicest thankyou pm for gryeyes a few minutes ago. I had sent her pictures, plans, a cut list, and instructions for building a 2 nest rollout nest box. Several pms later she has completed the box and mounted it through the wall of her coop. She sent me pictures of the finished project. She can be very proud of herself and I'm proud to have assisted in some small way.

I've finally figured out a way to put my drawing and video game skills to good use! I'm going to make a hack of Fire Emblem 7 with my own characters, text, and (maybe) My own maps! If I feel really into it, I'll edit the music too.

I must be getting old. I have no idea what you just said.

A hack is an edited version of a game.

With the Sprite talking about things of which I have no knowlege, and my Thistle not always speaking in English many times I feel as if I am in a fog.
