Open bags of feed in clearance section

Was just at my local feed store and noticed in their clearance section they had "open" bags of 50# feed. Looks like they had ripped and been taped back up. Does anyone buy the clearance bags of feed? They were $5 each at my store and the lady said it happens quite often.

I got a darn near 50lb bag for $2.02 that way! It was nice and fresh, wish I could find it that way more often!

I don't buy them only because I don't know how long they've been open or what moisture may have gotten in - but I wish I knew~!!

I buy ripped bags all the time. The bags have just been torn in shipment and tapped back up.

I buy them, sometimes it's a gamble though. Last time we got some, they had been "opened" by mice and we found bits of their nests in the bags....

The broken feed bags move quickly around here. When possible I do buy them.

FLF I am going to start shopping at your feed store! $2.02 for a 50# bag is amazing. Here I was thinking $5 was a good deal. I get opened bags of cat and dog food all the time and have never had a problem.

I would buy it at that price if I could, I never see the bargain bags, maybe I should rip a bag or two in the store, and wait for them to discount it???
