It can mean they are hot (they don't sweat, so "pant") or that they are stressed. More info?

Usually when they are hot the pant and raise there wings so cool air can circulate across their body.

I think they are hot, it's sooooo hot here, but they might be stressed birds are stalking them every other day @Serenity Sav

one of my chicks is doing this too. I have no idea what it means. mine is 8 weeks old.

It doesn't always mean anything bad. When a hen pants it is releasing hot air and opens it wings in able to surround itself in cooler air.

We have 5 girls that range from 3-5 weeks old, and today 2 of them are panting. It did get hot today. We are using a fan to circulate the air and they have plenty of water. They seem ok other than that. Could this be just because of the heat?
