Open mouth breathing, panting of 8 week old pullet

Hi,

My buff orpington was running in the coop with the rest of her flock and stopped and opened her beak to mouth breath, or pant kinda. Just for few minutes, then went back to scratching and pecking. Is she having hard time breathing? What she doing?

If the temperatures were hotter than usual in your area, than it may have been she was hot. Orpingtons can get overheated more easily than some other breeds because of their feathers.
