My favorite hen Feisty has a huge open wound on her back. I flushed it out today and packed it with neosporin.
It was a mating injury that turned into a pecking frenzy and we can see bones.
I had to wash out bunches of maggots today.
I am not a good nurse.
She is up and kicking around, and she's getting more color on her comb.
I can't devote much time to nurse her, but she's alive and kicking. School starts tomorrow and I have other birds plus a family.
What would you do?
(no judgments please)
ETA: I also bandaged it but she had that off in about 20 minutes.
Update: Feisty died last night.
