Opening the next boxes?

I have Pekins and they are approaching 19 weeks old. What age would I expect them to start laying and will they still start as Autumn is fast upon us? Also, should I open the nextboxes yet? I have kept them closed off as I didn't want them roosting in them.

I would expect them to lay in another month or two. I would definitely open the nest boxes so they can lay though sooner if they need too. Usually unless the bird is pecked on by the others if your roost is on top or higher then the nest boxes they will not sleep in the boxes. Best of luck! MW
