Happy Veterans Day!

I need opinions. I've never owned a chicken in my life, but would like to get some ASAP. However..... Hubby just finished our home and all of our deer food plots in September and a dog pen in October. He is an avid hunter and so you can imagine has much frustration about missing most of now season. He's told me, "Write your honey do list down on a piece of paper and give it to me in May." Soooo... Here is a link to a chicken tractor I found locally on craigslist. I feel like it's safer looking and better built than the pre-fab houses found on amazon and wayfair. Also, NO HELP NEEDED ON ASSEMBLE FROM HUBBY!!! Lol. What does everyone think? Can this be used temporarily for 6-9 months? According to the measurements, do you think it can actually hold as many chickens as he suggests?

After May we will be constructing a big, beautiful hen house and I thought maybe I could use this for my broiler birds at that point to keep them seperated.

Thanks in advance for your time and advice!!

It actually looks quite nice. The only thing I noticed that bothered me was the wire. Too large of holes for a raccoon to reach into and other smaller critters to get inside. I would replace all that wire with 1/2" hardware cloth. Otherwise it would work well.

One thing to be sure of with tractors like that is to be sure the ground is level enough. You don't want any gaps for critters to get in. Agree on hardware cloth. Capacity looks good. No question you should get chickens. They are wonderful. Good Luck.
