Pretty much.
One place I have found it useful is in summer I often get grain mites in the feed I buy.
Mixing a good amount(palm full of DE per gallon of feed) into the feed kills the mites tho it can take a few days.

I do the same thing! I don't use DE in the coop, but I mix in a scoop when I get a new bag of feed.
