Opinions on this coop

Absolutely! You know when I first got started and was researching, etc., to find the best fit for me, I went with a shed style, mostly because I'm an 'ol senior citizen and wanted to be able to walk in to tend the coop! :old  The thought of having to get on all fours just doesn't cut it for me anyways. I bought a new shed LifeTime Sheds, it's 5' x 8', had some neighbors hehlp me put it together, then I built my run attached to it, putting a pophole on the one end. Now if I have to clean the coop, etc., I just lower the pop hole keeping the girls in the run and I can open both doors and have at it!

I built my nest boxes and roost bar/poop tray by myself (darn proud of myself, too!)

Very nice!:clap
Sounds like a nice set up!

The pictured coop would be fine for a handful of birds in a free-range situation. Meaning if it's just for sleeping you could get away with it. But if they're in that coop and run all the time, I think they would be very unhappy and stressed, which in turn is not healthy.

I agree. It would be just for sleeping in my situation. They free range and have a separate run to go into if they have to be locked up

ok... so I found a coop that is way better quality than a normal coop. Its real wood, which is nice. Remember my chickens are free range. I looked on my local Craigslist and didn't find an old shed that would be suitable for me. What do you guys think of these coops??

the website is www.customcoops.com
Luckily, I don't live too far from where they are built.

Nice, but.........spendy for their size. The only one "priced" at the website is only 4' x 4', one of their smaller ones, at $525.00. The one you show above looks to be 5' x 8', so I well imagine that one would go for the high 8's and up. But they are nice, that's for sure!

Yeah it had a price of $700, so maybe just maybe I can talk them down a little. The used sheds I found was $650 and needed a lot of lovin'. Thank you so much for helping me on this. It's a lot of money and everyone on here has brought up really good ideas/ points that have really helped me. :woot. (I love these little animated smiley faces)
