I’m trying to design a free standing “chicken bench” to put in my OEGB coop.
The idea is to have the nest boxes suspended under the “poop deck”, with a nice, cozy out of the way feel for the hens. The openings for the hens are on the back side, with an egg access door in the front.
Do you think they’d like it?

I think that looks great! I was planning on using an old work table to make our nesting boxes using a similar idea!

I have a sort of rectangular version of that, that's worked well for me. It was made from a $2-thrift-store end table, probably about a 2' cube with the front open. I screwed 2x4 up each end to support a roost over it, and put a lip on the front to keep bedding in the (floor level) nestbox, and voila, a portable roost-and-nestbox unit for whatever pen I need it in.

The only thing with yours is that either it's real big, or your nestboxes are real tiny and the parallel roosts real close together-- make sure you work out the scale in a plausible way. Mine just sat the nestbox level right ON the ground and worked fine, fwiw.

Moving your perches to the outside of the "A" legs may give them a little more room (if it is as close as it looks in the drawing)

The drawings may be out of scale and proportion. I’ll have to work it out full scale. I have a few books that include nest size and perch spacing information. Things will probably change some.
