I live in an urban area. The mall is just two blocks away. I haven't bothered to lock up my hens at night because I'm lazy. Got a 6am wake up call this morning and found a very small opossum in the hen house.

I guess I got lucky and I should probably lock up the hens. I saw a few stray feathers but no blood and all hens are accounted for.
 
It/they will be back! I learned the hard way. They can climb, so secure the top very well.

Check each bird over very carefully- one of mine had a hole in her wing that was invisible- I didn't find it until it was infected and I smelled it. Took a long time treating it to get it healed.
