Do they normally try to get chickens?
We have had one on our property the last
few days and I was just wondering if they
attack chickens. I haven't seen it near the coop
yet, but am going to try to catch it wednesday.
From a distance it looks really skinny, maybe really old.

Well we have caught 2 in our trap in the last week and had to relocate them. Something tore up one of our chic's behinds. And that is what we caught.?????? Were they the critter that got to her I don';t know , they were caught at night right out side of our coop.

Yes, they will kill and eat chickens, chicks and eggs. They are scavangers and will eat what they can locate easily. Dixie

I have opossums in my coop quite often. Never hurt a chicken but they sure like the eggs!
