Opposite gravity ~ a movie based RP

Once they arrived at Madison's family's house, Madison knocked on the door, still feeling a bit awkward if she just walked in. Jake answered the door and made a funny face web he saw it was me, Maddie guess it was because Jason was with her and that she knocked instead of just coming in. "Hey guys..." He said. Just then, Madison's mom walked up as invited them in. "Dinner is just about done, you two can come sit down and wait for it to be done if you like...." She said, her words coming out a mile a minute. "Ok, thanks mom..." It still felt weird calling her mom.

Jason already felt really out of place. Jake was giving him weird looks and for some reason, he felt that Jake didn't like that he was dating his younger sister. Andrew was right... He thought smiling a little as what he said echoed through his mind, 'Aren't older brothers suppose to be overly protective of their younger sister?' He walked in still feeling out of place. He took his shoes off by the door and wondered what he should do next.

Madison gave him a reassuring look and followed her mom into the kitchen. She took a seat at the table and forest sat on the floor a few feet away from the table with Tiny. Jake didn't sit, instead he grabbed some plates and started to set the table. "Need help?" Madison asks awkwardly. Jake smiled and nodded. Madison stood up and grabbed some forks and napkins to set it.

Jake nodded, his expression softened. He was warming up to Jason. Madison smiled. "Here, can you put this in the middle of the table?" She asked as she handed the napkins, salt-n-pepper and forks to Jason. She winked at him, good job, I think my brother is warming up to the idea of you dating me.... she mouthed.

Just then, Madison's dad walked in. It got even more awkward. "Uh, hey dad.... Jason's staying for dinner..." She said, trying to break the awkward silence. We da smiled and nodded. He walked out onto the back deck and flipped the burgers that were on the grill. Madison grabbed the salad out of the fridge and tossed some salad dressing on it ad mixed it together. She knew Jason would be awkward without something to do, so she asked him "can you slice some apples? Forest likes apple slices with her dinner...."

Madison grabbed a knife, cutting board, and a few apples and set it up for Jason. "There ya go... Don't cut them to small though, forest is kinda picky..." She said, determined to keep the awkward silence from returning.

"Okay..." Jason said keeping that in mind as he quickly sliced the apples into wedges that weren't too thin but they weren't too thick either. he did it quickly, some people had said it was a bit terrifying to see him work with a knife but he tried to shrug it off. He didn't ever want to have a sharper eyes for whatever purpose, he didn't want to be quick and fluid with a knife but he was and he tried to get over it as he finished up cutting the apples. He half wished he could mess up so people thought he wasn't that handy with a knife, but something inside him always insisted he did his best and not hide his talent.
