Madison looked hurt. "I don't have I family.... I'm what you'd call orphan." Se bit the inside of her mouth remembering the fire in which she'd lost her whole family to when she was only 5.

Shleya felt a little shocked. What makes her think going to a different planet will make all her problems disappear? She thought. She glanced at Andrew. She knew he was only trying to help but this only made the situation worse. "So what do we do now?" Shleya asked Madison. "What about all your other commitments in the below world?"

"Commitments? Like what?" Madison asked, confused. She knew she had a job and a pet, but what other commitments would she have? And why did it matter?

"That's exactly the point." Shleya said looking at her like it was common sense. Andrew wasn't so sure. "Um, Shleya?" He began. She shot him a look that told him to shut up. Her answer didn't even come close to answering her question. "So you have no regrets what so ever about leaving behind the other world. There's nothing you forgot, nothing unfinished...." She said trailing off hoping that she got the point.

"I didn't say that.... But who ever said I was leaving that world forever?" Madison shot her a no-nonsense look. She hadnt planned to leave the other world forever. Nor had she thought anything of it. "Look, I know your concerned, but this has nothing to do with you or him--" she gestured towards Andrew. "- so, you could just walk away right now, or stop trying to talk me out of it. Everyone in my home town knows that once I set my mind to something, I never back down from it..." Her was firm but nice, not wanting to hurt or offend anyone, but at the same time she wanted her point to be recognized.

"And everyone who knows me know that I don't like seeing people who seem happy but are angry and depressed inside." Shleya shot back. The truth of it was, whenever she saw something or someone out of place she felt the need to help them fit in.

Andrew rolled his eyes. "Can you guys tell me as soon as you get done here?" he asked knowing that Shleya wouldn't give up very easily at all.

"I don't care what you see in me, it's my life. A life I don't have back home that I left to explore and see for myself..." Madison shot back, it wasn't like her to get angry. She wasn't going to back down, no matter what anyone else said. It was her own choice.

"Your life isn't here." Shleya growled. this was just getting frustrating. Why does she insist on breaking the law? "It's not like there's some special thrill here... it's just a normal world! Seeing on how your always so optimistic, your planet must be great!"

Andrew found himself agreeing with both sides... this is weird... he thought. It's like one of those professional debates...

"Fine! You wanna know why I'm really here?" Madison said, tears brimming her eyes, her voice slightly cracked. "I came here to see my family... My real family...." Madison's throat seemed to lock, unable to say anything at the moment. Se brushed the back of her hand across her cheeks to wipe away the falling tears.

Shleya felt a bit of relief, she knew she wasn't lying or holding anything back anymore. "Why did you go to the below world in the first place?" Shleya asked her voice becoming gentler and more understanding. The 'sciency' part of her brain put on the breaks like Woah there! She saw through Madison's voice. She could be a really great actor... the more sincere part of her brain to the sciency part to shut up. it didn't work. If she really belonged on this planet, she wouldn't need weights to stay here in the first place, she would need weights to stay on the below world. She felt a sudden suspicion that Madison was just lying to get out of a fight but she kept her mouth shut.
