someone in my area is selling oprington chicks. she says they are blue/black/splash orpingtons. what does this mean?

is this a good breed for dual purpose? Also will they have their own chicks so that i won't need to buy more next year?

new to all of this, just trying to learn, thanks :)

you can eat any eggs you collect and put in the fridge, fertile or not, they will not develop unless put in an incubator or sat on by a hen for a few days in a row. your safe :)
