NatJ knows what he is talking about. The first post in this link talks about the science behind sex links, how the father has to have nothing but the recessive sex linked gene and the mother has to have the dominant version. It goes into detail about red sex links, black sex links, and feather sexing (the wing trick). It only works once because after that the genes are jumbled up. They can go together in any fashion so you don't know what you will get. So yes, either one of those could be either sex.
