Orange Light??

In my brooder i have a soft white light bulb. I heard its better to use red. I only have orange till i can get a red is orange ok? I have a pic exactly like the one i have.

Is this for heat, or just so they can see (with a separate source of heat being provided)?

I ask cuz those compact fluorescents put out next to no heat and won't do you any good unless you have another, very significant, source of heat.

People normally use high-wattage red bulbs (floodlight or heatlamp bulbs) because you NEED the high wattage to convert to heat, the CFLs won't do it.
