Orange yolks

Sometimes after my dad mows the lawn, I take the clippings to feed the chickens. The yolks aren't super orange but pretty deep yellow.
I read somewhere that grass was good for chickens as they don't have a stomach like cows to eat grass. Sorry, I am gullible and believe everything I read on the internet... :caf

That's an idea, I sure have lots of weeds in my veggie gardens. Though a very slow season here in NJ. Just putting in tomatoes this coming weekend. We had freeze warning and flurries last week.
You're right. By now I was expecting the temp to be a little warmer here. My tomato seedlings are a little too small to be put out

You guys are having some crazy weather back East! We're already at 100 in Southern Arizona. My garden is taking off like crazy, though my Sunflowers and corn never sprouted.

Sometimes, it feels like ALL gardens are for the rabbits, it’s just that some humans haven’t come to terms with it yet.
LOL. I tried making a chicken garden in the chicken yard. A couple of plants didn't make it long enough for me to get the netting around it. I now have only a cantaloupe left in there. I will cover it until the vines get big enough for them to sit in. If it makes cantaloupe, they can have it. I do have an extra watermelon I planted in the people garden just for them- any watermelons from that one plant will go to the chickens- I also have a squash and cherry tomato in the people garden for them. Maybe next year I will plant carrots for the greens and cover them quickly. I know the dill plants didn't last 5 minutes.

Is there a special feed to get eggs with orange yolks? While we're fortunate to get fresh eggs daily, they don't taste any different from store bought. Do orange yolked eggs taste different?
Our warrens lay large brown eggs and their yolks are a lovely dark yellow, double yolkers often too! We do feed a small handful of layer pellets daily? Not sure if that’s why they are dark yellow though!
