orangey/yellow marble things inside hens

We have 'harvested' a few of our hens. Upon opening then up, they had what I would call orange/yellow large marble sized balls inside them. They were not attached to anything, just inside.
Are these normal? What are they?

Can you possibly get some pictures of what you are talking about?
 
Sorry, I do not have a picture. Wish I would have thought to take one. They are yellowy/orange and are subtly covered with red veins.

So they are the ovaries...I wouldn't have guessed. I guess I haven't killed and cleaned enough chickens yet.
 
Thankful that is what they are...we thought we had some crazy disease going on!!!
