I'm thinking cold, and a long travel time. The first lot shipped on a Saturday and arrived the Tuesday, 9 were dead in the box, 3 dying. The second bunch shipped on Saturday and arrived on Monday, all arrived alive. Pretty sure we won't be mail ordering again!

Just got my order from Mc Murray Tuesday. All are happy and doing well. I think my free exotic might be a Salmon Faverolle as well. Do you have any pics to compare?

You can tell because they will have a fifth toe. They also have feathered feet and a muff. My free exotic was a Salmon Faverolle, here he is (Not sure he's a boy, I'm just guessing. I read that you can tell when their wing feathers start coming in, though.):

Shes a beauty SilkieLover2444 . My rhode islands and leghorns are getting bigger too. I had to transfer them to a larger brooder today. They are eating much more than they where last week too.

I ordered 25 Black Jersey Giants and 10 Speckled Sussex plus 1 free exotic, 1 free Black Jersey Giant, 1 free Speckled Sussex and 8 extra chicks. I tried to save a dying chick earlier today but passed away so 45 chicks remain and are still thriving
