If you get them from Cackle and maybe some other hatcheries, you can get as few as you like and fill the rest of the order with cheap chicks. That's what I did.

Actually, they would probably find plenty to eat. Lizards, snakes, bugs... But the predators would definitely be a problem, as well as neighbors if they would shoot the turkeys. Too bad the neighbors don't shoot the coyotes and eat them!

They wouldn't find any snakes or lizzards on our property. Well, maybe a few lizzards. We have a 5 foot wall around our entire property with a big iron gate with rough concrete under it. Combined with the pine trees it makes a great privacy fence and and wind/sand block. We have lots of wild rabbits but have never seen a snake come across that concrete. The turkeys/chickens would have to leave the property and then they would be fair game so no roaming for them.

you could go to TSC thats where im planning on getting some white turkeys soon from... all orders must have atleast 5 poults/ chicks and must be over 25 dollars.... i think the whites are 5.86 for 5 would bn3 28.90
