I am in Oregon, ordered ducklings from Metzer farms during the weekend and they were sent out Monday, in-transit Tuesday. The expected delivery is FRIDAY. That's so long. I have called customer service but its not business hours atm. I am 7 hours from the facility it shipped from and am confused how mail takes this long to travel 7 hours. Unsure what to do, very scared, any advice or experiences? Will it most likely deliver early? Its priority! Its supposed to be max 3 days! don't have any place close buy to get mallards, idk why cant find a hatchery in my state that's not just chickens! Thanks for any help!

Well, they have to go to the closest post office to the hatchery, then to the capital depot then to your state's capital depot, then to your post office, there might be a stop or two on the way, depending. They do not put your order on a truck that goes straight to you.
They'll probably get there thursday, which is reasonable. Chicks and ducks still have a good bit of yolk in them when born so they can go a few days (3-4) without eating.
There's no need to panic.

Thank you, thought they would 100% die by Thursday, never ordered ducklings before. Hopefully they are okay!

Well chickens or ducks but 0 mallards.
Can you reach out to the hatchery and verify the shipping timeline? I know I was so worried about my ducklings shipping from Metzer last August. They only took 2-3 days to come from CA to Seattle, WA area. They provide a little cup of some gel nutrient that is attached to the side of the box to keep the ducklings hydrated and fed until they arrived. I bet yours will do fine, and hopefully you'll get them early. I showed up at the post office as soon as they opened and picked mine up right away.
