I'm in Tampa,Fl. And would like to know if is better to get eggs to hatch or borrow/rent a rooster. My neighbor won't appreciate the wake up calls 7 day a week. lol/ therefor no rooster for us. A couple of days though I think she wont mind if is during the week.

Much obliged fellow chicken lovers

Order hatching eggs. Chickens, even hens without a man, are really territorial and it will take several days for your ladies to accept a rooster into the flock. If you're only borrowing him for a few days, most likely he'll be running in terror from the girls and none of their eggs will get fertilized anyway. They may even manage to hurt him. Plus, there is a big risk for him bringing in bugs (parasites and viruses alike) and giving them to your girls even if he looks clean. Eggs are much much easier to deal with, you have none of the integration issues you would with bringing in a lone new chicken, and there are very few biosecurity risks with hatching eggs.
