Oregon Spring Poultry Swap May 5, 2012 in Canby!!!

Here is my bringing list:

Fresh, Willamette Valley Honey, your containers or mine. The honey is unfilitered and unpasteurized.

Upon request: -White Leghorn Chicks or Hatching eggs
- Delaware Chicks or Hatching eggs
- Welsummer Chicks or Hatching eggs
-Olive Egger Chicks or Hatching eggs (1st generation, Project Lav. Ameraucana roo x Welsummer hens). Will bring only the peacombed chicks from the cross.
-Possibly some BCM Chicks or Hatching eggs
-7 month old Delaware layers, culls from my breeding program (if not sold before the swap)

The chicks will be sold straight run, $3.00 each, hens and hatches willing :)

I am working towards the SOP with all of my breedings but at this point I am only selling layer/pet quality chicks.

If anyone would like a nice 6 month old Welsummer Rooster now, I have one for sale for $10.00.

I definitely want some more honey

The honey from Zanna is superb.

I like the idea of short little information classes. There were many buyers asking beginner questions who would benefit. I suspect the idea would work better at Corvallis where the swap is indoors.

If there are going to be chairs, then 15 minutes is perfect. If the viewers are going to be standing, perhaps shorter?

I see it as an excellent way to bring more buyers to the swap.

OK so (once again) I am gonna jump in here where I don't belong. As for the educational talks idea. While it sounds good problem is that if somebody happens in late in the day they mayhave missed the part they need. What about a hand out that may answer some "basic" questions and on the hand out some good sources for help. Also for those who want to answer questions. Maybe a sign in thier booth that may say something like ANSWERS HERE or CHICKEN ED. (as in education)

Yikes! You all have been busy!
I have been offline for a while. I'm definitely coming, and definitely bringing jam and chicken-shaped teacozies (and maybe purses!) and since you just posted an update, I figure I have a little while before you'll post another... so I'll try to sort things out.
