Oregon Spring Poultry Swap May 5, 2012 in Canby!!!

Came back from the Stevenson show about 2 hours ago and was very disappointed in the sale birds. Definitely more silkies and bantams for sale, but not so many large sized birds. Also, not many birds period. Got there early (9:30am) like Cloverleaf said to do. Also, only one pair of ducks available. Didn't recognize the breed. Poo! Wasted trip, but it was a beautiful day for a drive.

If anyone is looking for Muscovy ducks, there's a lady in Stevenson with a Craigslist ad for them today. I called her while I was there, but she didn't return my call until I was already back in Troutdale.

I'm glad I didn't go then.....I was thinking about going to find a Royal Palm hen. Doesn't sound like I would have found one. Definitely a pretty day for a drive =)

No Royal Palms, for sure, in the sale area. Don't think I saw any in the show area, either.

Gah! I haven't been on here for a LONG time! In between full time work, full time school, full time chickens, etc......

So, I'm not going to be able to attend the swap, my husband has planned a little Vegas getaway for us that weekend. Good for me, but not so much for those who wanted hatching eggs or chicks. Anyone from Central Oregon going who might be willing to transport for me?

I was disappointed that there weren't more birds in the sale area. I was really hoping to find some more BBS Bantam Rocks, but the breeder wasn't there. Cloverleaf, I saw those LF BLRWs, my friend and I were drooling over them

Hopefully there will be more at the fall show.
