Organic feed

To claim that your chickens are "organic", what exactly is required?

Organic feed?
Particular grit?

If I feed my chicks DuMor chick starter (non-medicated) but then switch to something more "natural" later on, would they still be considered "organically raised"?
I'm not trying to be certified or anything, I just want to raise my chicks as naturally as possible, within my options for feed and such.

to claim truely organic it must be certified organic feed, grit does not matter. Sounds like yor chikens are all natural and that is equally as good

I do the organic thing, no meds, certified feed and I use only organic methods in my land as well. I do vaccinate for mareks though so technically I am walking a fine line, some still consider them organic others do not because of the vaccine.
