Okay I have completed my research on feed. The least costly feed that I could find that is organic/non GMO as is willing to work with you regarding shipping and even willing to change the proportion of protein in their feed is Blue Stem. They have an animal based protein, which I wanted rather than peanuts and they are also soy and corn-free. They will ship to a local business to decrease your shipping costs as well. I've called all the mills in my state and every feed company that I could find that claims to have organic feed. I checked into about 15-20 organic brands. I hope this helps everyone out there who is seeking this product. Sorry about pestering all you folks for information on this, but your input greatly helped me doing this. Thank you for your support.

Tabasco Jack,
I don't have the exact cost of the feed yet as this is a special order. But the regular food runs around $50/## for organic so I'm hoping no more than $60/#. A lot will depend on the shipping costs. Right now the H & H I purchased is $93.75 for 50# so this would be a significant savings. Plus it's the "correct amount of nutrients" so I won't have to add as much stuff to it.

I know this is a ton more expensive than a regular 50# sack, but it's the best I've found to date except m/b a brand made from peanuts. I have heard this isn't ideal because it is often missing the essential B-12 that quail need. If this costs too much I can investigate some of the peanut brands again.

Hope this helps,
SuseyQ
