Then today I candled my eggs in the incubator, and did an egg-topcy on the eggs that died. Today I found these two little ones also had the same defect. Organs on the outside of the body.
Bantam mix day 13

Silkie day 16 also (looks to of died earlier)

And if anyone knows why these other deformities occurs I’d also be interested in learning why.
Brain on outside of body, no eyes, and abdomen didn’t close.

Are the parents related ?
I know mom to son or dad to daughter is ok but siblings and several generations is suppose to be a no no
Also do you calibrate hygrometer and thermometer?
What temp and humidity are you incubating ?
Do you have any crested ducks in your flock ?
Any ducks sick or on antibiotics ?
I use unrelated roos.
Some of the chicks were under a hen. If I do use my incubator I have the temp at 99-100F and humidity is 55-60%
I have one crested duck male. He is not with the girls he lives with the bachelors or geese depending on were I put him. No sick fowl, none on antibiotics.

The humidity is a bit higher then I would go but shouldn’t cause these issues
I have no idea
Those were the only possible things I could think of Causing it

Can incubating them with geese eggs cause deformities? The only ones incubated with geese eggs were the eggs from today.
My friend runs geese , ducks and chickens in the same bator and hatcher
She hasn’t had these issues
Maybe others who have geese can chime in to clarify how they do it
How long have you had the birds ?
What feed / diet are they on ?

Scratch grains, layer and grass. I’ve had birds for 5 years now.
Thank you for your help. I just been wondering what cause this to happen even if I don’t find out. Thank you

I was thinking maybe new to laying but they should be well sorted by that age
Feed sounds normal
I have run out of ideas for you
Hopefully you get some good ones going forward
