I have never weighed these birds but they are heavier than they look and very people friendly, they just love attention. And Yes I do love my bantams, you can get more birds into smaller space.
I agree, I think it is a combination of their upright stance, and tight feathering that makes them appear smaller than they actually are. I have the Saipans, and people who see them are shocked how tall they are, but if they actually pick them up, they are even more surprised at how heavy they are, and how solid they are as well.
Leon is a Malaysian Serama (Napoleon) at three weeks. He is very small. He is the colorful one next to the white bantam leghorn (and those leghorn banties are small)
and there is also aa buff Orpington Bantam and some black Seramas in the back. All are three weeks old. Leon iis now four months but I dont have any new pics. I know this is not a very good pic but I just wanted to add it any way, Was taken with a disposable camera.
