Man, those are some super nice hens, and look at the spurs! It's nice to see some one else post some birds that are actually oriental looking. If I was voting, you would have mine on those sweet little girls!

Well I have one of my Saipan hens that is near 11 lbs right now!

They didn't look that big in your picture... but then again they never do. They are very well proportioned. I guess Saipans are about as large as a chicken gets then?

The one is so heavy, she has real trouble getting to the 5 foot roost. One of my hens has spurs too, just not as big as yours. They are just balls of muscle, especially the rooster. Some Saipans get around 3 foot tall, and I know people who have had cocks up to 18 lbs. You are definitely right about pics not doing them justice, here is a pic of my son holding my rooster early this spring so you can see his size better.

That is a great picture! It definately puts size in perspective. Once again a beautiful rooster. Personally I don't think most pictures do these types of breeds justice. Something in the way they move and the confidence they hold themselves with just doesn't translate as well to camera.
