Ooh, nor have I! But I'm also loving Sumatras...SunSetsWest, do you have any pictures of these exotic colors?

It started when I got my hands on a young dark dun cockerel and 4 pullets, 2 black, 1 splash and 1 light dun. Going by what I was told, 2 copies of dun produce khaki (like splash with blues) also from what I understand, if I get 1 copy of the dun gene and 1 copy of blue I should get what seems to be refered to as platinum, kind of grey-ish, not quite blue, not quite khaki, I believe I have 4 of them, they are still young and I am so excited watching them grow...

This is the only khaki cockerel I've gotten so far..

Sumatras are definitely my favorite breed of chicken.

Thanks!! I love them as well!! I had only seen the blacks and blues before, but then found a guy in Fl. that had the duns but by the time I got in touch with him he had sold them...Short story, I found one of the people that got them from him..HA! As for now, I am hanging on to all the khakis and platinums and a few of the dun and blues to see how they grow out..I had sold all the blue babies as many other people have them but 1 pullet slipped through and WOW ! she is a looker...

great looking sumatras and neat colors! while i've never used the term platinum i have a Polish hen who is split blue and khaki. best advice in finding your platinums at first is they will look khaki when standing next toa blue bird and will look blue when standing next to a pure khaki. eventually you'll figure out the subtle difference

Those are so pretty! They're really bright, too. They have a real working head on their shoulders, those Sumatras.

I don't have any recent pictures of my sumatras but here are some older ones.

That's my better quality blue rooster.

Slightly less quality than the blue rooster. This is, sadly, my best picture of him. (His tail is in bad condition.
