Orloff

Here is a thread about Orloffs:

I had three hens from Ideal. They were pretty girls and layed well. Every time I ordered a rooster it died in a freak accident so I never bred them. Eventually I put them with the EE flock. Their eggs were the only brown ones and a nice size. I usually got 1 - 2 eggs out of them a day. Their babies were adorable. All different colors with the huge muffs. Very cute.

Barry Koffler apparently has seen Spangled and Cuckoo in person. You might also contact him to see if he can dig up who he got the pictures from on his website. Then you could contact the breeders.

And Desert Poultry apparently has the Black-breasted Red Orloffs, which are beautiful. They have a few pics on Feathersite. Gorgeous birds. I like them and the Spangled the best.

I love Russian Orloffs. Here are two head shots of mine, Firebird (Roo) and Tasha (Hen).

Very nice birds Banter!

We have 25 Russian Orloff Chicks that are shipping out on the 15th of June from Strombergs Hatchery.

I have three and LOVE them. I have a picture posted somewhere on the forum and will try and find. They have beards and look like an owl in the face. Very self sufficient and are always the last to go into the coop. Great forgers. Actually mine came from TSC this spring. I guess I got lucky.

I accidentally bought 2 Orloffs from my local feedstore (they were labeled as gold-spangled hamburgs). They turned out to be two of our favorite hens, and we named them Sasha and Sonja. My hubby is especially fond of the Orloff sisters because they look so cool and they making a funny honking noise all the time.

I have no idea how well they lay since I have so many chickens and can't tell who lays which egg, but their personality alone makes them worth having. They are very sweet and like to be cuddled, not flighty at all. You won't be disappointed!

I bought three from a breeder and I love them. I normally only buy bantams but I really liked the look of these. The babies are so sweet too. Mine are only 4 - 5 weeks old and I got 3
