I'm thinking about Orloffs... I would like to find a breeder in the UK or receive some hatching eggs, I know alot of people on here are from the US so that won't help me, but I do know that there appears to be alot more Orloff owners in the US. Is there anyone out there with experience of them and what should I be looking for??

Thanks

I can't help you, except to say that Orloffs are wonderful chickens, full of character. Check out Star Bright Farm on this forum.

My Orloffs are my favorite breed. They're big, beautiful, and quite docile. They don't care much for handling, but considering their size, I don't really wanna try to anyway. They're a very inquisitive breed, and I feel that they have a mysterious and mystical aura to them.

I also should mention that good quality Orloffs are slow maturing...but it's an amazing transition. Once the males reach maturity, the roosters become quite territorial and somewhat aggressive towards other roosters. For that reason, they really should either be the only rooster you have or you need to keep them penned separately. I actually have a double fence between my Orloffs and my Delaware rooster...and they still try to get to each other.

However, they are not aggressive WHATSOEVER with people.

If you find them, sarjaysar, I would highly recommend you get them. You won't be disappointed and you'll love them. Best of luck to you!
