Maybe there is nothing I can do about this.
I have one Scovy female who, when she begin the whole laying eggs thing, become broadzilla. Her name is Salt, but because she has a white head, whereas her sister, Pepa, has a brown head. But, during nesting time, becomes Salty. She usually picks out one of the Runner females, usually the smaller one, Brownie, and relentless chasers her if she gets any where near the vicinity of the nesting area. Not the nest, the area. I am talking within 10 feet of the nest. If the my baby is hunting for bugs, no interest in the nest and minding her own business, steps that close, Salt in on her and begins the chase. If Salt catches her, she latches a beak on a wing feather and holds on for life while Brownie desperately tries to get away. Salt is at least twice as big as Brownie, so this ends up being painful.
The only thing I can do is pen Salt, which ends up with a pacing Salt, who constantly pokes her head out of the chicken wire "wall" angrily and stomping around like Godzilla on a rampage.
Is there anything else that can be done about this? This only happens when laying begins with her, and stops once she is done. We don't let her actually sit on any eggs, since she is an even more evil broader.
