Orphan Canadian Gosling

My daughter found a orphaned Canadian gosling. Extremely young and the only one to survive.
I am having difficulty finding a wildlife rehabilitator.
In all honestly we really don't want to give him up.
Is there a way to keep him legally?
I live in Northern Kentucky

Im sorry but I'm pretty sure the only way to keep native geese legally is to have the proper permits and paperwork. You must also get them from a hatchery as they are protected under the migratory bird treaty act of 1912. Here is the page you can view:

oh ! poor little gosling. first of all he/she will be much happier with other geese ~ I know you want to keep him ~ but ~ have you seen this site?

There is also the option if you want goslings that you can keep get a few from a hatchery or a local breeder and those ones will be legal. Or get hatching eggs!

You can apply for a permit to keep him by becoming a rehabilitator yourself... the site Mallards and Quail gave you has all the info for that

I would also post about your gosling on your state forum, maybe someone who has geese is a member here and lives near you and can help sort things out
