Orphaned duck egg

Ok so I live near a creek and there is a male and female duck couple. They laid a fertile egg and my friend touched it, thinking it was a rock. the parents didn’t go near it after that. There was a storm last night so I went and picked it up before the storm. It is currently laying under my geckos heat lamp and I need some help or advice. Thanks!

Did you candle it? Were the parents incubating it before you got it?

Hi! Update… i candled it and there were no veins, so it was not incubated or even developed. It is back at the creek and the parents are mallards.
