I am going to get chickens this spring, 2 brahmas and 2 of another kind. The coop I am getting hold 4 chickens. Since brahmas are big, and we want orpingtons, we were wondering if we could get bantam orpingtons to leave a little room. I don't know if the brahmas will (even just accidentally) hurt the bantams, especially because I have read that they (orpingtons) tend to be low in the pecking order. We will get them as pullets and bring them home at the same time. They're coop will be in an old dog run that we cleaned up and chicken proofed. It is pretty big, I think. Not huge though. Thanks!

I raised a mix of bantams and standards together and they do well together. However, in a smaller space, they may argue a bit. You can get bantam brahmas also, if you don't mind smaller eggs! I love brahmas, and they are so cute as bantams!
If they are raised together (bantams and standards) they should get along, just make sure that they all share their food and water.

I hope this helps! It really depends on the individual chickens.
Best of luck!

Thanks, that's a good idea! We have a while to go, and it depends on where/when we can get them.
