Orpington Broodiness

thank you! I also like your profile pic. I want to raise lavender Orpingtons as show birds because they are pretty. I don't breed chickens so I don't want them to be super broody.
I have had quite a few English Orpingtons and I agree with everyone else, going broody is an individual thing. My black orp Dahlia has gone broody several times, she's a great momma and sweet to me, same with my lavender orp Felicity. The others never went broody. Unfortunately you can't control broodiness, but there are simple ways to break them of it since you're not interested in breeding. Carolina Rare Chicks has a wide variety of colors and gorgeous birds (I've ordered lots of eggs from them). I'd love for you to keep us posted.
