Big Daddy has a Big Family!

Thanks!
We raised 120 chicks from him and 14 hens. Momma hens 50 & "bator" 70.

Seeing some good-lookin' fluffy butts here! :) :) :) :)

I've been crossing Buff Orpingtons with Golden Cuckoo Marans in order to create a golden cuckoo orpington. This hen turned out perfect for what I was attempting. So she's a cross, but still an orp.

Pure English Silver Laced Orpington Rooster

Skip is very gentle and friendly and loves to be the
center of attention. He also enjoys wading in pools of water in
our back yard, and sleeps among the sheep as if he was one!

She is beautiful just as she is to me. I understand you are aiming for the cuckoo buff Orpington.

I happen to like feathered feet, but worry about diseases in rainy, hot climates. What are your thoughts?

I've never heard about feathered shanks and disease, it's the same as feathered bodies. Hers are really lightly feathered:

Thanks. I was thinking of mites and feces hiding in the feathered area.

I provide DE in their dust bathing spots in the summer. We've had a really wet winter here, an I haven't had any issues with mud or poo. Mine are on 1/3 acre run though, so no mud pit small run either.
