Hi I’m Jessica. I’m 40 and moved to middle of nowhere California from San Diego December 2020. I used to be succulent crazy but phelan California is a different life. Sd is the city phelan is the country desert. I went on a journey to figure out a soil fixer and figured chickens would give me eggs fertilizer and their little feet to mix up the ground. Out of any farm animal I figured chickens would be the easiest/ safest choice for me. So with no coop I ran to tractor supply (a store before moving up here I’d never even heard of.) I purchased 4 welbars chicks. That was in August. I currently have my 4 og Welbars, 1 red sex link, 1 lavender orp, 2 silver laced orp, 2 (youngest in crew hatched sept 3) lavender orps , and currently on my first incubation. In my incubator I have mauves and b/l splits. Total of 22 eggs hoping to hatch at least 3 so they don’t get lonely. 9 days left so excited! Anyways so ya I’m Jessica and I’ve gone chicken crazy. Especially English Orpington. I’m on a mission to hoard the fluffiest Orpingtons of alll! Hahahahaa (sorry that slipped out) I still have no coop. I just shove everyone in my wooden greenhouse like shed. One day they will have a REAL coop. Sorry so long I tend to go on and on and on… well you get the image! I’ll add a couple chickens from whatever is on my phone. And hopefully more pics to come. Thanks for reading. Take care. Happy holidays !
