Hi I have a question about some chicks I purchased I was told they are out of a Lavender Orpington Roo, and a mixture of black, blue, and splash hens. There is one Blue, one Black, and 11 that are supposed to be splashes I am attaching pictures looking for everyone's opinions. Is this the way they should look she says they are either dark blue splashes or black splashes I am attaching pics of what there faces look like and there wings they are week old chicks.

They look like Orpingtons to me. Single comb, white bottoms of feet.

Are you looking to make a lavender flock or continue them blue?

Oh wait. I think your asking if those top few pictures are splash color- no. The white on throat and belly will go away as it matures. The top three photos are blue color.

The 2nd from bottom photo looks like lavender color though that's not possible unless some hens were split for it so guess it's blue. But yes, the white belly is very common in chicks and does grow out. Splash chicks will be yellowish and grow in white with "splashes" of blue feathers throughout their body, some more so than others that are almost pure white.

Ok my understanding is that there were lavender hens in the pen as well so maybe it could be a lavender the others have white feathers coming in that is why I was thinking splash.
