Hi. I'm Lisa and my husband have a farm near Mount Airy NC. I started with a small flock of Delawares and New Hampshires a few years ago. With that flock dwindling, I recently purchased a flock of 36 young birds from a local breeder. There are several breeds in the mix but mostly they are Marans and Austrolorps. There are a few Buff Orpingtons, a Rhode Island Red, a couple of small ones that look like pigeons, one Aracauna and maybe a few Barnesvelders. I look forward to getting tips and advice for handling the new flock.

Welcome to Backyard chickens Lisa, it's very nice to meet you. Your small ones are probably bantam breeds. You can always post photos at "what breed or gender is this," the folks there will sort them out for you.
