I have one two-day-old spraddle-legged Silkie runt in a Band-Aid brace. I hatched these at home, and have only one spraddle leg. It was doing fine until this afternoon, and now doesn't put weight on the gimpy leg. Is there anything else to do? Make the space between the legs smaller?
Now I also have three Spitzhauben in Band-Aid booties for curled toes, and one of those is also in a brace for spraddle leg. Only three hatched - and they were hatched in a giant inc'y by a pro. One of the chicks can't stand or walk at all, while the others are hobbling around ok. I have notified the breeder/seller.
Sigh.
