The 10 commandments...

Thou Shall not kill is actually Thou Shall not Commit murder.. Big difference in meanings. I like my god old testament style though.

Depends on translation.. Hebrew was not commit murder.. nothing about war, justice or self defense...

No, we aren't going to bring up what part God had in it, IMHO just happy to see that our president did acknowledge HIM.

Of course, he also made the point early on, that we are a mixed people, all faiths or none at all. As Americans, that is a proud part of who we are; a melting pot of peoples.

Did anyone else get the feeling watching his manner, that he was kinda saying, without saying..."In your face, world! We are America! Don't mess with us! And you best just back off, or we'll whack ya!" ???

They (meaning Iran) released the hostages min’s after, because Regan ran on a platform of strong and overt military action against Iran if they didn’t release the hostages. The hostage takers and extremists in Iran believed him and had no respect for Carter. That is why they waited until Regan was sworn in ..
A, as a slap in the face to Carter and
B, because they rightfully feared that the first thing Regan was going to do was to launch a large scale military offensive into Iran if they didn’t.

Regan took credit for it although it had more to do with Carters weakness and Iran’s disrespect for him, and great fear and respect of Regan. Regan wasnt messing around..

Remember a bunch of years back when the hostages were released from Iran just after Reagan took office? And he jumped to take credit for that.
