OT I'm under a Hurricane Watch and Tropical storm warning

* Oh, Great

We just got a look at IKE taken from the International Space Station, a forecast track that one of our better weather guys says will drive the eye right into the Ft. Lauderdale Airport and we just started getting rain from Hanna besides. (Hope my mother doesn't hear about this!)

* Well, I am not sure just who was SUPPOSED to be in Hanna's path, but, the rain that started with my last post on this topic at 11:45 last night just stopped for the first time 2 minutes ago. We're flooded again. (Ed: And now, it's starting up again-- Sorta like an eye pause?? Too short, I guess. . )

Keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers. We're inland in Virginia but still the posibility of 60 mph winds depending on where and how it hits. I'm getting ready to head in to town to stock up on bottled water. If we lose power then we have no water (well)
We really need a generator!

I'm watching the news and they're now predicting that Fayetteville is going to get hit hard by Hanna. Anyone on here in that area? We're only about an hour and a half or so north of Fayetteville. My crazy chickens don't seem to mind hard rain but I don't know how they'll fair with strong wind gusts. Should I keep them locked up until the winds/rain subside?

i am over near elizabeth city nc. and at noon last i heard hanna is to land a little further south and those to the west could get more steady heavy rain and we have more chances for tornadoes and storms. at least hanna won't last as long a isabel .

looked out the window a bit ago and the ducks are haveing fun in the rain we hare getting right now.

As of the latest storm track they have shifted the track back farther south and that would bring the eye right over my house.The eye is suppose to make landfall near Winyah Bay in Georgetown around midnight tonight and it is also high tide then.I'm only 20 minutes north of Winyah Bay so it could be a long night.This is nothing new as we have several brushes every fall but most of them end up going out to sea or the outer banks of NC.This is only a Tropical Storm or maybe a minimal Hurricane that won't cause heavy damage but we will probably be without power for awhile and will lose some tree branches and some small tree's.if it comes in south of me then it makes the tornado threat very high as they are usually on the right side of the storm.I just hope we don't lose power too long cause we will lose everything in the freezer.I know I should have a generator living where I do but I have never bought one.Several squalls have already gone thru and most business's are closing early so I'll keep you posted as long as I can.I'm not worried because I know that God will take care of us.

thanks
Marlon
