OT... well kind OT - How do I get rid of fleas with a homeade remede?

I have fleas on the dogs. My DE is not in yet and I was wondering is there anything I can use "make myself" till it comes in the mail?

The only thing I could think of is commercial flea powder or a flea bath?

You could also bathe them in Ivory dish washing liquid. Once they are lathered, let it set for 5 minutes then rinse. It will kill the fleas on them but will not keep them from coming back. But I recommend Advantage, it lays on the skin and is not absorbed, kills the fleas, and keeps them off.

I was thinking buying k9 advantix or advatage. Is it better or worse then frontline because we use frontline it I think the fleas are used to it

I would talk to your vet. One of them, I'm pretty sure it is Advantage, is not absorbed into the skin, it just quickly dries on the skin, therefore it's not going through your dog's bloodstream. I used it for years on my GSD. I would put it on when I saw a flea and then not again until I saw fleas again. She was a house dog so that would be maybe twice a year. They recommend once a month, but I only used it when needed. I have never used the others you mentioned so I can't compare them.
