Other option for FAT meatie?

Ok, so I have a HUGE meatie bird who's WAY too big for the killing cone. He's probably around 14-15 lbs and the cone will only seem to work for the one's under 10 lbs.

What's a good back up plan for a one time way to take care of him? I need want anything complicated for one time use, I just don't want a mess on my hands. I also need to bleed him out without using the cone.

Suggestions would be great, or some links to something on here. I did a search and got too many returns to weed through.

Tie his feet together & maybe his wings down with string or a belt or something & then off with his head.

Will keep him from running around - but he will still bleed all over.

maybe tie his feet & drop him in a 5 gal. bucket?

you can always make a cone out if chicken wire or hardware cloth too.

cut the bottom corner out of a feed bag will work also, this I have only seen done.

What I did with a CX that was too big to fit far enough into the cone to reach his neck was hang him by a rope with slip knots around his legs next to the cone, cut his throat and then quickly drop in in the cone to bleed out. I had to hold his legs so that he would not come out of the cone, but it kept him from spraying blood all over or flapping around.

Well we got rained out from getting the birds done, so we have until Tuesday it appears to figure something out.

We may have to build a bigger cone, I may have some roof flashing metal but we're out of additional wire to use.
