Our 5 hens are a year old this month. They resumed their egg production as the daylight hours grew longer. That first week, though, was a real record breaker, though I didn't even think what they did was possible. There were two days in a row that our 5 girls produced seven (7) eggs. In addition, there were two HUGE eggs. Most of the eggs they usually lay are about 2.5 oz each. The two huge eggs that you see in the picture below are shown with a 'normal' sized egg in between them. The large eggs both weighed a full ounce more than the egg in the middle. And yes, both of the large eggs were double yolkers!
