We had about 8 and after a few weeks we candled and saw movement. Then one after the other began to seep & smell meaning the fetus died and began to rot in the eggs. What the heck did we do wrong? The temp was accurate and humidity was good too. We turned the eggs like you are supposed to do as well. I feel absolutely horrible about it and feel like we've killed the babies. Any ideas?

You know there are things that happen you can't figure. If they are shipped eggs many things can go wrong, or if the stock isn't healthy. You don't say where you got them, but if they are shipped, this can happen. The eggs suffer a lot of trauma during shipping sometimes. It is heartbreaking, but part of the risk of shipped eggs. If they are your own, is there any chance they got too cold? I am sure some of the very knowledgeable people here can give you more advice about it, but don't beat up on yourself. If you take care of your end that's all you can do. Other factors are outside your control.
